Practice was held as usual in Gym C. About 22 people showed up. Topics covered were footwork, and beat-disengage.
The results of our Food Drive for the Bellingham Food-Bank were given out. We pulled in over 500lbs of food! Go us! The Food Bank was very, very happy with our donation as February is typically their lowest time of the year in terms of stock. Additionally both CostCutter-Lakeway and Albertsons invited us to come back if we want to do it again.
We are starting the process of organizing next quarter's activities. We wish to host a fencing tournament in the first half of April. We'd also like to send some fencers to
sectionals, but details are still being worked out. The nice thing about sectionals is that they are holding an Under-20 event in every weapon, and most of our club qualifies.
Our next community service project is most likely going to be a fund-raiser for the
Whatcom Humane Society. That event will be a Fence-a-thon in mid to late May. Look for more details when we've settled them down. The Humane Society is running a capital campaign to build a new, bigger shelter and we'd like to help.
